Originally made for the disquiet junto project 0433: "kit bits: create a kit’s worth of percussion samples. ". I used 1. Recordings with a telephone coil microphone recording sounds from an external blu ray drive and a smartphone (telephone coil recorded via behringer xenyx q1202 usb mixer, line-in) and 2. Random recordings from a soma ether device (recorded with zoom h1n, line-in). In these recordings i picked up those areas which i though to be useful for a drum kit, just as i would do it for myself. echoes from an age of misery is made in garageband for a thing called victors crypt. I wanted something massive and huge sounding with a certain groove and swag to it. But instead of going straight to the fat bass / big drums-part i made a quiet little intro before it kicks off. I made the drums with both sampled drums and a drum-machine to make it big. And i use 3 different basses. For a little extra spice i put some strings and stuff on it. Would fit anything big, dramatic and scary!!!. This is a recording i made for one of my songs. I found it nice to run the group's output through the ohmforce ohmicide and have some fun with the separate bands. The original loop consists of me, drumming on my metal kitchen-sink with drum-brushes. The snary accents are the brushes on the back of my acoustic guitar. All recorded with a neumann u87 and mangled through a ua solo610 with tube-gain cranked up. The bassdrumsound is also an handplayed sound from my nord lead. All recorded in 48/16.

Layered out of an sks, ak47, uzi and a snare drum with a metallic texture. A short decayed 808 kick drum is occupying the sub frequencies. A bolt mechanic layer added before and after the shot transient. Two echo/reverbs were added for the stereo width. Shell eject layer added. All layers grouped together and lightly compressed and saturated. Made in ableton live. Enjoy.

A catholic procession during easter week in 2010 in cuenca, spain. People marching, sticks hitting the ground, some random voices, de-phased drums in the background. Suddenly all the sticks are dropped on the ground, a fantastic sound.
